COVID – 19 Behaviour Policy
This Covid-19 Behaviour Policy is an addition to the schools Code of Positive Behaviour and all other school policies. Below are guidelines of what we expect from students regarding hygienic behaviour. Following the return to school these guidelines will be shared with all students at the start of the school year.
- Do not come to school if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, following the latest guidelines from the DES. These include temperature, cough, shortness of breath and loss of taste or smell.
- To come to school with hygiene kit consisting of face covering (and spare), hand sanitiser, tissues and facecloth.
- To put used tissues in the bin provided, not on desks or the ground.
- To wash hands, for at least 20 seconds after using the bathroom, before and after lunch, after coughing and sneezing.
- To follow good coughing and sneezing etiquette, coughing and sneezing into their elbow.
Any deliberate non-hygienic behaviour will be treated very seriously. Unhygienic behaviour may include but not limited to:
- Refusing to follow instructions around the use of particular areas, yard space or rooms.
- Interfering with the PPE of another student.
- Refusing to wear PPE, when asked to by a staff member
- Deliberately coughing, sneezing of spitting on another person, or threatening to do so.
- Spitting
- Fake coughing
- Throwing tissues on the floor
- Purposefully going against social distancing guidelines
- Deliberately touching other people’s belongings
- Any act which may increase the chances of transmission of the virus
- Tampering with any PPE equipment in the school including signage
