School Councils

Student Council

Swords Community College will adopt a partnership approach with students. The Student Voice will be encouraged and sought. An active, democratically elected Students’ Council was established early in the life of the school. Our college will respect students at all times and include students in decision-making where applicable. Our student council liaison teachers are Oide Josef and Oide Karen C.

Our Student Council was founded in early 2019. It meets at lunchtime weekly.

The current structure of the Student Council is:

Parent Council

Swords Community College will adopt a partnership approach with parents and guardians, who are recognised as the primary educators of their children. Parents and guardians will be encouraged to take an active role in their child’s education throughout their time at the school. Our college welcomes parents into the educational experience of their children.

Our Parent Council was founded in 2018. It meets several times a year within the school. The current structure of the Parent Council is:

  • Priya Krishnan - Chairperson
  • Natalie Wilson - Secretary
  • Emma Morrissey - Treasurer

Board Of Management

The Board of Management

At Swords Community College, the management process is open and inclusive. The Board of Management, a committee of Dublin & Dún Laoghaire ETB, has responsibility for the good governance of the school. The day-to-day management of the school is the responsibility of the Principal and his team. The Board consists of nominees from Dublin & Dún Laoghaire ETB, parents / guardians, school staff and the local community.

At this point in our development we have an interim Board of Management, whose members are:
