Spread your wings

With our design we wanted to go with a theme that symbolised hope and growth, so we decided a butterfly would be a perfect idea for that. It took a lot of thought and inspiration but we finally decided to go ahead with it. We decided to go with a colour theme of blue white and metallic. We had blueroll that we had rolled into roses, butterflies are known as pretty insects so the roses symbolise the beauty of them. Our top was made of old cut up cds which brightened it up our design, the headpiece was a headband covered in tinfoil for our antennas. The wings were made from old curtains used to finalise the butterfly affect. #junkkouture2024

Inferno Attire

2024 is the year of the Dragon symbolising good luck, fortune & power. Inspired by the theme, it represents women in fashion and their influence. Sustainability is a growing aspect of the fashion industry, but still not a substantial amount. Designers wanted to encourage women to change the ways of the industry by reminding them of their power and ability. In mythical legends dragons are attracted to gold, guarding it, correlating gold as the main colour. Illustrated flames by using potato sacks on the bottom of the skirt. The use of red for the dragon highlights its dominance and power and using crushed tealights as scales tie in the fiery aspect of the design. #junkkouture2024
