'As a part of Transition Year, I carried out voluntary work experience at the St.Vincent De Paul (Vincents) Charity Shop in Malahide. It was an incredibly rewarding and beneficial experience and I learnt many useful skills that will help me in retail jobs in the future. I also gained a better understanding of the important work St.Vincent De Paul does and how a charity shop operates. The atmosphere at Vincents was very positive and team-orientated. I carried out tasks like, labelling clothes, putting items out in the store, cleaning displays etc. It gave me an important insight into the world of volunteering and retail and I would recommend to anyone in TY to volunteer in a charity shop.'
